Classes, classes, and more classes!

Recently while working as Beeble art center I’ve had the pleasure of working with many classes at the Kingston Recreation Center (obviously in Kingston Massachusetts haha 😉 )

These classes have been filled with my past students and many new ones. Sometimes it’s a hard decision to pick which classes your artists might want to take. So here’s 5 ways to think about that.

  1. What does my child like the most about their school art class? (drawing, painting, sculpture, collage) Just ask! They’ll love to talk about it.

  2. Does my child like getting messy/ able to handle art mediums on their hands? (mess! I love it! How about some clay on your hands or some tempera paint on the elbow!) If they don’t how about a cleaner option?

  3. What do they like to draw? Do they enjoy coloring more than drawing? (if they like to express themself with color they might enjoy painting but if they can handle it, drawing classes focus more on the fundamentals)

  4. Are they ripping paper and enjoy playing with glue? Maybe they’ll enjoy collage!

  5. Enjoy finding their passion. Allow them to experiment at home. Make a mess with them and see where they truly light up.
